I noticed that, as of installer beta2, this bug is still not fixed. I am not an expert, but yet I would like to draw your attention to the fact that from lenny to squeeze Debian switched from using GRUB to using GRUB2. GRUB2 now uses a different device numbering scheme than GRUB used. It seems to me that the explanation in the installer was written for GRUB and was forgotten to be rewritten in order to reflect the different device numbering scheme of GRUB2. |
