Ah, this isn't the issue I was initially thinking of. I think what has
happened here is that the kernel in the installer builds is out of sync
with the modules in the udebs, hence the missing symbol which you
noticed. This is because the udebs have recently been updated but there
has been no matching release of the installer yet.

I _think_ this is the sort of thing which is temporary and will resolve
itself via the normal flow of packages into squeeze and/or releases of
the installer.

The daily builds of the installer seem to be fine:
