Comments/Problems:

Initial boot:
Autoboot with the original install-cd isn't possible, RS6000 reboots immediately.
Boot yaboot on the OF-Prompt aborts with something like "Uncaught Firmware Exception".
I seen, that the OpenSuSE Rescue System (on the first CD) can boot with a special
version of yaboot. So I replaced /install/yaboot of the netinst-cd with yaboot.ibm
from the SuSE CD (yaboot 1.3.13.SuSE). After this modification the Debian-CD autoboots
without problems.

Install boot loader:
Install of yaboot failed. In the log there is something like "'magicboot' scripts
cannot be used with fstype=raw", so I comment out the "magicboot" line (and the
"device" line, because it is empty and useless). After manually run "mkofboot"
and "ybin -v" yaboot was installed properly, so autoboot is possible.

Installed system ok:
After reboot Debian stops with a kernel-panic, because it cannot found the root
partition. The drivers of the SCSI-Controller was not loaded (problems with initrd?).
I installed a self-compiled Linux Kernel (from linux-source-2.6.15) with compiled-in
drivers for the most important devices to solve this.

Now I have a working Debian system on the RS6000.
The "PReP Boot Patition" was created with der SuSE Rescue CD. The two other
partitions was created with the installer.

 .
Parted currently supports DOS, Mac, Sun, BSD, GPT, MIPS and
PC98 disklabels/partition tables, as well as a 'loop' (raw
disk) type which allows use on RAID/LVM. Filesystems which
are currently fully supported are ext2, ext3, fat (FAT16
and FAT32), ReiserFS (with libreiserfs) and linux-swap.
Parted can also detect and remove HFS (Mac OS), JFS, NTFS,
UFS (Sun and HP), XFS and ASFS/AFFS/APFS (Amiga) filesystems,
but cannot create, resize or check these filesystems yet.
 .
Note that ReiserFS support is only enabled if you install
the libreiserfs0.3-0 package. Since libreiserfs0.3-0 has been
removed from sarge, ReiserFS support is not compiled in the
 default package.

We are closing this installation report for one of the following
reasons:
- it was reported with a pre-lenny version of Debian
  Installer.
- indications in the installation report give the feeling that
the reported problem waslying in another software, unrelated to
D-I, which we can't easily identify.
- indications in the installation report suggest that it may have been
fixed in a more recent version of a D-I component
- it was successful and we forgot closing it..:-)
- it has no information we consider useful

The D-I team is currently in the process of cleaning out the old spool
of installation reports that haven't bene processed yet.

In case you think that the problem you reported has chances to be
still present, please reiterate your installation test with
a more recent image of D-I, if you're in position of doing this.

You'll find daily builds at
http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer. We recommend you choose
the netboot image, in the "daily builds section", then choose to
install "squeeze" when prompted.

If some problems are found, please report them with a new bug sent
against installation-reports.

Many thanks for your understanding and your help improving Debian,
past and present.
