That's not so strange. The rescue mode has a lot of fairly heavy 
dependencies to make it usable for all "normal" systems.

To do rescue on lowmem systems, you'll have to do things manually.

The only solution I see to avoid the out-of-memory error is simply to 
refuse to load rescue mode on systems running in lowmem 2 and display a 
warning instead.
