On taking responsibility (was: handling of Recommends (was: on making decisions vs letting things happen))

The problem is that I doubt this will happen as ATM basically nothing is 
being followed up on. We already have several changes that have resulted 
in bugs or regressions for which nobody is taking any responsibility.

As a general comment, not as a personal attack: IMHO this kind of change 
really should not be made unless one is willing to follow up on it.

The same goes for the switch to c-s and the switch to grub2. Pushing for 
implementing changes just because they are on some ToDo or release goals 
list without being willing to take any responsibility for the change and 
even do a basic review and testing is a sure way to lower the quality of 
D-I.

The same also goes for proposing patches: if you're not even willing to 
test your own patches, then don't start on them.
