Package: installation-reports

I try to install Debian on a RAID 0, using the "install dmraid=true" command.

Boot method: iso DVD
Image version: Lenny for amd64, downloaded in April 2008
Date: 26/06/08

Machine: MoBo Asus M2N sli Deluxe, 2 Maxtor HDD
Processor:AMD athlon x2 3.2Ghz
Memory:2 Gb RAM, 2x160 Gb on HDD
Partitions: separated /usr, /var, /tmp and /home

Output of lspci -knn (or lspci -nn): No terminal available

Base System Installation Checklist:
[O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it

Initial boot: [o]
Detect network card: [o]
Configure network: [o]
Detect CD: [o]
Load installer modules: [o]
Detect hard drives: [o] (RAID 0 successfully detected)
Partition hard drives: [E]
-> Every partition seem to be created correctly, but finaly the SWAP fails.
After that, the partition manager shows a pri/log ext3 partition.
I tried to delete this to retry the process.
It fails because of "too much boot sectors" (as I try to remember).

I made a disk wipping (using Hard Disk Manager 5.5), so I could try again the partitionning process, that fails again at the SWAP.

Install base system: [ ]
Clock/timezone setup: [o]
User/password setup: [ ]
Install tasks: [ ]
Install boot loader: [ ]
Overall install: [ ]

Comments/Problems:

<Description of the install, in prose, and any thoughts, comments
and ideas you had during the initial install.>

Recently the support for dmraid in partman has been improved significantly
and some issues with grub installations have been fixed.
I expect this will have also fixed the problem you had.

Please see http://wiki.debian.org/DebianInstaller/SataRaid for current
status and instructions for installing Debian on a Serial ATA RAID
device.

Cheers,
FJP
