Bug#498071: More info
The same beta2 CD that failed on machine 1-3 is able to boot 2 others:
Machine #4: Dell Optiplex GX-1, CPU = Intel P3-450 (440BX chipset), RAM = 384MB
Machine #5: Acer TM110 tablet, CPU = Pentium M 900, RAM = 512 MB
Is it a coincidence that it fails on machines with an AMD processor and works on Intel-based boxes?
All the machines have either Award or Phoenix BIOS though I don't have specific version info yet.
The 20080906 daily build boots on all 5 machines. I have so far done an actual install on only one.
