Bug#485694: Submitting Installation Reports

Hi FJP,

I tested the installer and found the cause of the problem. The problem is not because of my hardware. It could be an installer failer.

If I choose Japanese language to install Debian, the installer can not create partitions. If I choose English language, I can install Debian (can create partitions). My motherboard can not be sold in Japan, and I am a Japanese guy in Australia, so the Debian Japanese team do not know the problem if the problem is related to my motherboard (GA−M68SM−S2).In case, I tested two different harddisks to install Debian on my motherboard.I had the exactly same problem on the two harddisks.

That is all what I found at this moment.

If you want to get syslog, please let me know how I can get it. The install can not create partitions, so how can I get syslog? I tried to find it on the two harddisks, but there was no syslog.

Cheers,

Joe

This is something that gets tested extensively so it's likely to be a
problem specific to your install.

Did you check the syslog? Are there any errors there?
Did you create your partitions big enough for the tasks you want to
install (see the installation guide [1])?

Feel free to send us the syslog of your installation if you cannot figure
out the cause of the problem yourself. Make sure you send it compressed
(using gzip).

Cheers,
FJP
