Dear Eddy,

(see my answers to your questions below in your text)

Thanks for the quick answer - the xserver did not start and the system gave
me some failure messages; I looked at several documentations at xorg an
debian-user e.g. ; at some sides the people were discussing, that xorg
really causes also pain to them and I got the impact, that probably xorg
runs in other distributions well but not within debian. So after several
hours I stopped my work.

In Sarge I used dpkg-reconfigure Xfree86..... / then I made some changes
e.g. choose VESA-Card and extended the resolution up to 1024 and everythink
was ok.

Yes, I read the Xorg docu but I failled - maybe you have an ADVISE what is
the easiest way to try to make some changes - are there some aditional
man-pages ???; (it also did not recognize my mouse.)

Best regards

Ralf
