Bug#394321: Failed Etch installs on P4MDPT motherboard

Package: debian-testing-i386-netinst.iso /
debian-testing-i386-businesscard.iso

Boot method: CD
Image versions: http://www.debian.org/ 10-19-06 netinst and businesscard,
6/9/06 netinst

Processor: Celeron 2hgz
Memory: 512meg
Partitions:
vorg@LLLVDR-C:~$ df -Tl

Trying to install etch version on a computer with P4MDPT motherboard. Seems
to be a problem with onboard nic setup. System has onboard video, 512meg
ram, and 2ghz Celeron cpu.

I tried daily and regular netinst downloaded 10-19-06. Both cases when it
tried to acesss the mirrors during install it failed unable to reach the
mirrors as if the url was wrong which it didn't seem to be. However there
was lan traffic so nic was active.Using a local caching DNS server there
where no request for mirror sites.

Tried the bussiness card install for same date and it seemed to get several
files from the internet and finished installing. But then when I tried to
apt-get anything it again couldnt reach any sites and the sources seemed
correct.

Also tried a daily netinst etch build I had from 6/9/06 and got the same
thing as the above daily netinst.

Dug up a sarge 31r1a netinst from 01/17/06 and it installed without
problems. Finds mirrors ok.
