Hi Colin, A user had problems because the amd74xx module is not included in ide-modules for powerpc [1]. This is at least partly due to the fact that the powerpc definition has its own list instead of using the kernel-wedge list. Could you take a look and see if there's any reason not to just use the kernel-wedge lists? One reason to keep a limited list could possibly be the size of ide-modules for the cd-drivers floppy. Below an overview of the current differences. ide-modules for powerpc64 and powerpc-miboot both refer to powerpc for ide-modules. One other request: Could you take a look at the size of the net-drivers floppy (both regular and miboot probably)? Apparently it is too big [2]. TIA, Frans In powerpc, but not in kernel-wedge: +ide-floppy Is this one actually needed? For oldworld maybe? +ide-tape Seems this kan be dropped. +sl82c105 Would probably need to be added in kernel-wedge (or kept in powerpc in addition to a ref to kernel-wedge). In kernel-wedge, but not in powerpc (note: all modules in kernel-wedge are optional for ide-modules, so only added if available): -adma100 -alim15x3 -amd74xx -ataraid -atiixp -cmd640 -cs5520 -cs5530 -cs5535 -cy82c693 -hptraid -ide-detect -it821x -medley -opti621 -pdcraid -piix -rz1000 -serverworks -silraid -sis5513 -slc90e66 -triflex [1] http://lists.debian.org/debian-boot/2006/09/msg01229.html [2] http://lists.debian.org/debian-boot/2006/09/msg01212.html
