I'm not so sure.  Turkish currently uses a keymap with unicode
codepoints (if "using UTF-8" means a unicode keymap).

I agree, this would be an invasive change.

I add the following comment on purpose (identifying only the negatively
affected keymaps) :-)

	# Don't know if there is any keymap negatively affected
	# from the workaround below, if so exclude it here.
	kbd_mode_temp="" ;;

But of course, this won't be easy at this stage.
