Can you send me the output of "lspci" and "lspci -n". So I can see what
PCI ID you card has.

AFAIK the d-i policy is to be based on herbert's official kernel-image.
So a d-i patched kernel is not an option. At the end of the installation
process d-i installs a kernel-image deb. This could lead to an
unbootable kernel if the d-i kernel was specially patched.
Is there any special reason why this patch is not included upstream?
IMHO this would be the best solution.
