Yes, I know about this, but the infrastructure in discover1 doesn't
support loading modules per kernel version. Perhaps in discover2. My
primary concern for the present with discover1 is to support 2.4 kernels
for the new debian-installer as well as the sarge release, so this will
have to stay in. A very easy workaround is to put the line 
"skip ide-scsi" in to your /etc/discover.conf, and it will not load
ide-scsi. I'll document this somewhere in the package in the next
upload.

Please note that we're also planning on transitioning the discover
package in debian to discover2, which will support 2.6 much better.
There are preliminary packages available for it if you'd like to test
them out.
