On 2.6 lsmod shows sd_mod then ide_disk and ide_floppy in that order
on 2.4 it is ide-disk then ide-floppy with no sd module. My scsi module,
qla1280, is way down near the bottom in both cases.
How are the links in /dev/discs created? I could try to investigate that
process to see what it is doing.
