Comments:
+ I choosed language=German, country=Deutschland (Germany) and added keyboard
option=nodeadkeys
+ manually setting network address (No DHCP available) works flawless
+ manually repartioned /dev/hda (deleted 2 partitions at the end of the disk
and created hda4, hda5, hda6 and hda7)
+ used lilo as bootloader in hda4, as I have a special bootloader on this box

Problems:
In 2-nd stage pppconfig has several problems:
1) In "main menu" ("Hauptmenü") the text is displayed in englisch, although
title and options are displayed correctly in german.
I looked at the de.po file (271), but in there it's correctly translated!!

2) The english text in "main menu" is not fully displayed. It stops after "...
.Hit ENTER to select an", so you don't know what to select.
Don't know if this is related to 1)

3) While setting up "provider" it didn't auto detect my analog modem "ELSA
Microlink Office" on /dev/ttyS0. So I had to select it myself.

4) While setting advanced options, each option has a description, which is cut
off (==unreadable). But there is plenty of whitespace displayed before.
Don't know, if this is a problem with debconf?

5) Back in "main menu", after setting up "provider", there is no "Change" or
"Delete" option to choos from. So if you made a mistake, you can't correct it.
Instead you have to "Create" a new configuration under another name.
Note: After complete installation you get these two options when running
pppconfig!

6) Just to test it, I selected "Desktop" in tasksel, and downloaded it via
analog modem. It took ~31 hours to download(hence the above date range ;-)
Becaus of this long time, my provider diconnected my connection 2 times.
In Germany at least this forced disconnection is enforced by law!

The problem is, that I didn't get an error message on first console.
base-config just throws me to it's base menu with the next step selected.
So I had to select "package selection and installation" ("Pakete auswählen
und installieren") again, to continue the download, after using pon again.

The only way, to prevent this, would be to set the advanced option "persist"
while configuring PPP in pppconf. But this is not documented in the install
manual under "7.2.3 Setting Up PPP" at all.

7) Shouldn't I've got the K7 flavour of the kernel?

Thanks for this lovely installer!

Bye
Christian
