I'd prefer the first option -- a cancel dialog.

This is a good idea.

Yes, it causes a lot of work. :-)

We already discussed the size of the swap partition.  The conclusion
was that more than 256MB swap is never (rarely) needed.  On one hand
if you have small RAM, then too big swap means that the kernel will
become irresponsible swapping.  On the other hand if you have enough
RAM (255MB) then you don't need swap at all.
