Yeah, dbootstrap checks /proc/meminfo, which is probably the same thing
"free" looks at.  I don't actually know of a way to find out what the
physical memory size is, though I guess one must exist.  Suggestions
would be welcome.

Can you confirm that the amount of RAM you had was indeed sufficient to
complete the install?  I'm not sure trustworthy the "12MB" number really
was in the first place.
