Bug#63619: Modconf does not work properly during install.
Package: boot-floppies
Version: potato/2.2.12
During an installation of potato, I was unable to get modconf to
work properly. It seems that /target/etc/modules.conf was
actually named /target/etc/modules, and modconf was unable to
find the correct file. I exited to a shell, changed the name of
/target/etc/modules to /target/etc/modules.conf, re-entered the
install procedure, and all of the modules I selected were
installed correctly.
This bug was present in both the 1.44 diskettes images and the
idepci version of the 1.44 images. I tried both before I was
able to fix the problem by changing the filename.
I would suggest that either the name of the file in /target/etc/
be changed from modules to modules.conf in the boot-floppies
install, or else modconf should look for the file 'modules'
instead of 'modules.conf'.
