Bug#59256: Inappropriate LAN configuration

I didn't know this was checking drivers; I thought it was strictly user
driven.  So maybe the problem is simple: ppp wouldn't load, so I get the
LAN queries?  But I think ppp did load with earlier boot floppies (2.2.6?)
and I still had this problem.

Yes, no arguments to anything.  I haven't a clue what they'd be.
