Package: base-config
Version: N/A
Severity: normal

base-config should probably ask about shadow and MD5 passwords -before-
it prompts for root's password. This is particularly important for MD5,
because you can't have passwords longer than 8 characters without MD5 on and
it's quite likely that you want to make the root password longer than that.
