This is fixed in the latest release (which is unavailable due to gluck

It hw-detect tries to load these modules, but they are compiled into the
kernel. You can ignore these messages.
Did the DHCP step actually succeed or not? (did you get a DHCP lease?)
If not, this explains the error message.

Hm, don't know why it hung...
Did you use the businesscard image (~70MB, without base) or the netinst
image (~130-200MB with base)? If you used netinst you cannot install sid
from cd (as the name suggests this is a sarge image). But you could
install sid over the net. The selection is a bit missleading in this
case. It should probably only ask if the network is configured...

This is a bug. the installer should not have allowed you to partition
while some partitions are mounted.
