Looking at the original bug report, it's too bad that there isn't enough detail to confirm that these are one and the same. I have a preference towards #3, however, since linuxthreads shouldn't be that much overhead. I'm curious: do you see this as a linuxthreads bug? I'm going to start testing NPTL for glibc soon, and this might be an interesting test case for improved functionality.
