install: choose kernel

I'm in the midst of a new install on my new computer:

	Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe AM2 motherboard
	AMD Athlon 3800+ CPU
	Asus EN7300GT graphics card
	1 GB ram
2 Seagate 7200 80 GB SATA drives in raid1 with lvm.

Using the netinst.iso image via usb stick boot hd-media.

I'm at the point of choosing which kernel to install:

	linux-image-2.6-amd64-generic
	linux-image-2.6.17-2amd64
	linux-image-2.6-amd64

The installer doesn't give any hints other than showing the generic
selected. It would be nice if there was some guidance but there isn't,
so I'm asking here.

What is the difference and what would you recommend?

Thanks,

Doug.
