I don't know if that helps, but you can get RedHat 4.0 for
Alpha from

http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/historic-linux/distributions/redhat/4.0/axp/

I guess the original release date was in 1996. Unfortunately
this is "only" a ftp mirror (no ISO image(s)).
