1000a 5/333 boot problems
I'm trying to boot a 1000A 5/333. I am getting nothing, not even a video signal. What the front LCD panel shows is the SROM going in an endless loop from d8 on down to e4.
I suspect that the flashrom is corrupt, the owner's manual seems to indicate this anyway. Problem is that in order to fix it, the manual suggests doing a fail safe boot with the Update Utility disk. Me thinks the utility disk made it's way to the city dump years ago! I have found the flashrom upgrades on the Compaq/HP site, but with no indication on how to install it if you can't get the machine to boot. So does anyone have any suggestions on what steps I should take form here?
