I've seen such estimates several times...  Just out of curiousity, where
does 5 Mb come from?

This adds up to 447153 bytes.  In the worst case on Ruffian this may
grow up to 1 Mb, but that's it.  I know what "more than enough" means,
but still, why 5 Mb?
