Re: Install problem

First of all, thanks for the remarkably quick and helpful replies, I think
it was about 10 min. between the time I sent off my request for help and
the first reply, very impressive!

I've now downloaded and written resc1440.bin and drv1440.bin from
http://lhpca.univ-lyon1.fr/axp/debian.html and I am able to view the files
contained on the disk from DOS.

This was not the case with the file
debian/hamm/hamm/disks-alpha/resc1440.bin.noname+udb on ftp.debian.org
which I initially used. When I tried to view that file under DOS, I would
get a 'general failure reading drive A:'. As info, when I tried to
reformat that disk it showed that the filesystem on the disk was RAW
instead of the original FAT. Is something wrong with the file on
ftp.debian.org or were those files intended for a different purpose (or are
they just out of date)?

Anyway thanks again, I look forward to trying the install again after I get
home.

Brett
