hamm on a ruffian machine?
I'm very new to Alphas (not to Linux) so I apologize...
Hardware: Samsung 164UX Motherboard (w/ SCSI and Ethernet onboard)
SCSI harddisk (Cheetah 16 GB)
After booting milo, a working kernel (ruffian 2.0.34p11b), starting
redhat, copying the debian boot disks to a filesystem (no debian rescue
disk for ruffians..) I was able to start the debian install system, install
the base system (including base1_3.tgz via network, so something seems to do
well :-).
After reboot everything is slow, realy slow.
20 minutes later after starting the kernel and doing the first filesystem
mount I'm in the
Starting system log daemon: syslogd
line.
The errors between starting and the syslogd line:
clock: unable to get I/O port access
...
MAKEDEV(49): unaligned trap at 0000000120001d6c: 00000001205265d4 2d 0
and three more unaligned traps..
What am I doing wrong? Any ideas?
Thank you!
Gerhard Schneider
P.S.: Subscribed to the list yesterday and didn't get any mail, so please
