I believe I may have been a bit cavalier in my assumptions about the -mieee flag. I only compiled mpg123, gqmpeg and x11amp with this flag, and experienced this error each time I ran those programs. Now that I look at things more closely, however, I realize that gqmpeg and x11amp both invoke mpg123, so this seems to me like an error in that program.
