Thanks for checking. It makes me think that the issue isn't related to 
work I've done.

I can send a minimal .config and/or cross-compiled binary if you wish to 
try those.

Did you build vanilla mainline (kernel.org) 3.12 sources?

If kernel.org 3.12 is broken then git bisect would be one approach to 
finding the bug (given a fast machine with git and cross-compiler).
