And I tried it on my Amiga 4000/040 (12 MB Fast RAM, Ariadne Ethernet).

First I had to gunzip the image, or the bootstrap complained about the
compressed image being too large.

Then I booted it with a ramdisk (the good old
filesys-ELF-2.0.x-1400K-2.gz). Worked fine!

Then I tried to boot from hard disk (IDE), but it failed because it
didn't detect my hard disks.

Perhaps the IDE doubler support is the problem? I'll enable it in my
2.6.8.1 kernel and 'll see what happens...

For reference, I attached the dmesg outputs for 2.6.7-amiga and for my
own 2.6.8.1.

In personal conversations with technical people, I call myself a hacker. But
when I'm talking to journalists I just say "programmer" or something like that.
