The LSB rolls out everything with v1.2
The LSB rolls out everything with v1.2 this June 28th, 2002.
The Free Standards Group (FSG) board of directors approved the
Linux Standard Base (LSB) workgroup's gLSB, archLSB-IA32, and
archLSB-PPC32 written ABI specifications. All of these
specifications can be found at http://www.linuxbase.org/spec/
In addition, the LSB workgroup has delivered runtime tests,
applications tests, sample runtime implementation, and example builds
of common applications. http://www.linuxbase.org/download.html
Several Linux distributions had successfully completed the
LSB Certification Pilot during the 1st half of 2002. These
Linux runtime systems will be the first to be LSB branded.
On July 1st, 2002 the FSG will begin LSB Certification of
runtime Linux systems and applications. More information regarding
certification can be found at http://www.freestandards.org/certification/
The push is now on to build the arsenal of LSB conforming applications.
At LinuxWorld, learn how to build, test, and certify your applications to
become LSB certified.
