I'd dare second that interest. There is a lovely new iOS gopher client 
which is under continuing dev.  (Thanks, whoever!)  But the Android app, 
indeed old, never worked on my install.

This does seem like an opportune time for Gopher projects, in light of the 
web brutalist turn.
