, the git master branch at Github is the current "release" and is always stable. Because packaging software still requires version numbers there is now an automatic version numbering which always increases so for example .deb packages will still work & update properly.
$ git clone https://github.com/kimholviala/gophernicus
The current master has a fix for /server-status which would leak users IP addresses - now the default is not to show session data at all unless you use the -d switch for debug output, and there's also a new command line switch -nt to turn off /server-status completely.
