Dear Maintainer,

I think a nice improvement for apt is to use short options for cmp. Currently,
in general apt scripts used short options, but this is not consistent. Also, in
this way scripts will be friendlier to different implementations of cmp, like
busybox one.

I have submitted a MR which can be found in:

https://salsa.debian.org/apt-team/apt/-/merge_requests/203

Thanks in advance,

Walter

Hi!,

I have submitted a MR which can be found in:

https://salsa.debian.org/apt-team/apt/-/merge_requests/203

The MR has been merged in commit
https://salsa.debian.org/apt-team/apt/-/commit/eac32564d294caf264cabb62c776444f973b111a

I have quickly scanned current repo of apt and haven't found any place
where long options are being used.

Therefore I'm closing this ticket.

Kamil
