Bug#1095107: apt: /etc/apt/sources.list.d should be called /etc/sources.d
Package: apt
Version: 2.6.1
Severity: minor
X-Debbugs-Cc: mortenkjeldgaard@gmail.com
I was just prompted by my trixie installation to "apt modernize", which basically moves sources.list to /etc/apt/sources.list.d. However, with the new DEB822 format the files are now called *.source, and since the *.list format is being phased out, that directory really ought to be called /etc/apt/sources.d/
I propose Debian in future releases operate with two directories, /etc/apt/sources.list.d and /etc/apt/sources.d, and deprecate the former.
Cheers,
Morten
