The following suggestions aren't really better wordings, I guess,
but you could perhaps add "(they are case sensitive)" to the existing
frase,
or maybe you could use the clarification you gave me and make the sentence
read something like this:
"Dependency types for ~D and related operators need to be specified the way
they appear in their manual page (they are case sensitive)."
