Please submit them as a salsa merge request, so tests run and they don't
get lost in a jungle of 600 bugs. It seems likely we won't merge them,
as there are plans to become root as needed using a daemon and policykit:

That said, it might not make it into the next release, and this might
be a useful improvement.
