It's complicated. I guess we could rework the manual pages so
that they basically just include common snippets, and duplicate
all the needed stuff that way, but do we want that? (maybe yes,
I'm not sure).

In any case, I'm not likely to work on this, but if someone comes
up with a clean set of patches - well, we can talk.
