Bug#833366: please make it possible to update/upgrade more than once daily

Package: apt
Version: 1.3~pre2
Severity: wishlist
File: /usr/lib/apt/apt.systemd.daily

Hi,

currently, the apt.systemd.daily job can only be configured to
update/upgrade once daily or less than that. It cannot be configured
to update more often than that.

To get aquainted with the mechanics of the mechanism, it would be nice
to be able to run the job, for example, once an hour, so that one
could see the process working whenever unstable updates.

I do understand that once daily is a reasonable default to keep mirror
load down, but it would be really nice to be able to go beyond
that. There are valid reasons for that.

Thanks for considering.

Greetings
Marc
