Given the length of the list of packages to upgrade: Could it be that this is an apt version 1.1 >= X < 1.1.4 ? apt 1.1.4 fixed a bug with exactly this symptom, so try upgrading it first: apt install --only-upgrade apt libapt-pkg5.0 Best regards David Kalnischkies
