Package: apt Version: 0.6.40.1 Severity: wishlist Please, could you allow for Packages file to specify that a package should be downloaded from a specific host, not necessarily the one we got Packages.gz from? The "Filename:" tag could be used for that. For example: Filename: http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/3/3dchess/3dchess_0.8.1-11_i386.deb -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.11-1-k7 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) (ignored: LC_ALL set to C) Versions of packages apt depends on: ii libc6 2.3.5-3 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libgcc1 1:4.0.1-5 GCC support library ii libstdc++6 4.0.1-5 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 apt recommends no packages. -- no debconf information

I agree with this reasoning and therefore close the bug as wontfix. Best regards David KalnischkiesAttachment: signature.asc
