Package: apt
Version: 0.8.14.1
Severity: normal

When i use 'apt-get update' command, you know that it computes time and print it in screen.Last option in each line is time and second, when second is 3 digit it doesn't has problem, But when it is decreased to 2 digit you see double s, same follow:
LINE__________________________________180s
LINE__________________________________20ss
Solution: a function must be written that check may digit of second differ or not.if true, and decreased, eliminate end of line.

Such a function exists… I also run apt (in fact basically everything) in
screen or nowadays tmux for years and have never seen this problem, so
I wonder how it possible that you see this…

Could a problem with your terminal, or terminal + screen, or … too many
variables for a four year old bug without further comments or other
reports to splice in. I am therefore closing this as unreproducible with
a hint of hope that this is fixed in the meantime, but if this is still
reproducible for you feel free to reopen!

Best regards
