No.

showpkg is mostly a debugging command for us (given that you can only
understand it if you read apt sourcecode) and a "tailing" whitespace
hurts nobody expect those people who have to implement the non-trailing
part as it means we have to check if there is output following or not…

So, closing as wontfix.
