apt-get install has repeatedly shown a propensity to remove packages
rather than upgrading them.   In the following example, it tries to
remove openoffice, kde, gnome, and konqueror at least the first three of
which are common targets.

This bugreport unfortunately lacks an considerably amount of detail to
be actionable, especially now 7 years after the fact, but given that KDE
and GNOME have a high popcon count I presume it isn't removed for
everyone all the time…

So given that this is unreproducible (and hopefully fixed in the
meantime) I am closing this bugreport, but if this is still reproducible
feel free to reopen it of course!
