Package: apt
Version: 0.8.14.1
Severity: normal

While updating the French translation of the apt package description,
I just had a good laugh..:-)

"This is Debian's next generation front-end"

It was next generation back in the 90's. I think that now APT can just
be a front-end to dpkg. :-)

Maybe a good opportunity to entirely review apt's debian/control file?

And indeed a good illustration of why we should never use "next
generation" or "new fancy foobar" in package descriptions..:-)

In the meantime the descriptions were entirely rewritten, so a critic
would need to be rewritten entirely as well, which if there is still
something to critizise is better done in a new bugreport not obstructed
with our old mistakes. Hence closing.
