In the bug report that I filed a few days ago, I did mention that the same error message "Media change: please...." appeared even after the '--no-auto-detect' option had been added to the apt-cdrom command.

I urge the "Apt" developers to reproduce the above issue.

I use only Debian Wheezy and am not interested in trying out Jessie at the moment as it is still in alpha testing phase.

I hope the maintainers of 'Apt' package issue a fix for the bug for Debian Wheezy at their earliest convenience. The official release of Debian Jessie is estimated to be at end 2015, which is almost 20 months away.

I just do not understand why Debian developers prefer users to install the OS via the net when more than half of the world's peoples have very slow internet connections or none at all. Additionally, CDs or DVDs are becoming obsolete. In some Third World countries, desktop computers are mostly second-hand and generally do not have CD-ROM, let alone DVD-ROM, drives. A brand new CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive cost more than USB flash drives. I come from a country with an advanced economy and work for a UN-affliated NGO that sends me to developing countries. On one of these missions, I bought a dozen or so USB flash drives in my own country for almost a song, packed them in my luggage and when I reached my destination, distributed them to my hosts.

Regards.

Theodore
