Package: apt,libgd-text-perl Version: 0.86-8 Severity: serious User: debian-qa@lists.debian.org Usertags: piuparts Control: found -1 0.9.7.8 Hi, during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from 'squeeze'. It installed fine in 'squeeze', then the upgrade to 'wheezy' fails. This problem was noticed on the i386 architecture but not on amd64. Therefore I'm opening a new bug, even if this is related to #645713. The test setup was a minimal squeeze chroot, recommends disabled, and libgd-text-perl installed. >From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...): E: Could not perform immediate configuration on 'libgd-gd2-perl'. Please see man 5 apt.conf under APT::Immediate-Configure for details. (2) A status file and the log from apt-get -s dist-upgrade -o Dir::State::status=/tmp/dpkg_status_no_immediate_libgd-gd2-perl -o Debug::pkgPackageManager=1 -o Debug::pkgProblemResolver=1 after s/squeeze/wheezy/ are attached, too. cheers, AndreasAttachment: libgd-text-perl_0.86-8.log.gz

Hi, I cannot reproduce this bug, and suspect it is related to the libgd2 → libgd transition which had a somewhat rough ride at the beginning (which seems now solved). Either that, or it may be solved by APT - i.e. this might in fact be same bug as #645713 mentioned by original bugreporter: The fix for that bug seems unrelated to architectures.
