Bug#687147: apt: man page not clear on which changelog is the default
Package: apt
Version: 0.9.7.4
Severity: minor
Dear Maintainer,
apt-get(8) is not clear on which changelog is displayed by default:
> changelog
> … By default it displays the changelog for the version that is
> installed.…
which could be taken to mean either the currently installed version
or “the version that is installed by apt-get install.”
According to apt-get.cc the default is the candidate version, which
makes sense. To make this more clear please write something like “the
version that would be installed” or use the term “candidate version.”
Regards
